Run the Desert!

Celebrating its 39th running in 2008 the Saguaro National Park race is one of the oldest running races in the Southwest. The event’s scenic course and post-race festivities truly embrace the spirit of Tucson and the old Southwest, making this race a favorite among runners. The 8-miler was named a national race of the month by Runner’s World magazine in 2002, with a featured article.

Great festivities . . .

An “A” race of the Southern Arizona Roadrunners, with reasonable entry fees and a free t-shirt to all entrants. Special awards to be announced soon. Possible festivities include rock wall for climbing, and Park Service Nature Hikes.

National Park Service Fee

Please remember that a National Park Service $5 park entry fee is included in your online entry fee. If you own an annual pass to the national parks (or are under 16 years of age), this fee will be returned if you bring your permit to race day registration. For information on an annual park pass go to www.nps.gov/sagu/ or visit any national park and inquire at entry. Race entry fees also include labor cost of additional park rangers required for the event.
