Brief Description

Fourth Annual Meet Me Downtown 5k Night Run/Walk for the Fox. Post-race festivities include food and drink from great Downtown restaurants. The free film at the Fox Theatre after the race is "Saint Ralph", about a young boy who decides he needs to win the 1954 Boston Marathon to save his ill mother. Live band throughout the evening: Genevieve and the LP's. After-party at the Hotel Congress. We're still deciding the children's film offered by Cinema La Placita.

Tucson Tradition

Fast becoming a Tucson tradition, this race is a Downtown party -- great restaurant food, live music, after-parties galore . . . celebrate Downtown on a nice spring evening . . .

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries include the Tucson Children's Museum, Fox Theatre, Cinema La Placita, Imagine Greater Tucson, TMC Children's Miracle Network and Greater Tucson Leadership. Cinema La Placita has shown outdoor films at La Placita Village for 10 years -- this year they will show the Wizard of Oz for families after the Meet Me Downtown race. Greater Tucson Leadership supports quality leadership in the Tucson region through educational programs and community events that inform and motivate action.

Free Social Training Runs

Every Monday evening starting at 6:00, the Southern Arizona Roadrunners host free social runs and walks starting at Maynard's Market, 400 North Toole Street at the Old Train Depot. Come on down and join hundreds of others for a route throughout Downtown, followed by civic networking and discounted food and drink. See www.azroadrunners.org for details.

Additional Information

Come run the Downtown streets for a fast and fun nighttime 5k. After the race, head to the historic Fox Theatre for a free film (first come-first served). Start/finish at on Church Avenue, at La Placita Village. The course winds through the neighborhoods to the north and south, crossing Broadway via the pedestrian bridge connecting La Placita and Presidio Plaza.
