WWP began when several veterans and friends took action to help returning service members from Afghanistan and Iraq. It has grown into a complete rehabilitation effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life.
Registration fee is $25 for adults, $15 for kids under 14 and $15 for Military personnel prior to September 25. The fee will increase to $35 beginning September 26 through the day of the event.
There will be one Overall Male and Female winner and three winners each in the following age group categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+.
Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. on race day.
The 5K will be an electronically timed event by Race Chip Timing out of McKinney, Texas. All participants will wear an RFID chip around their ankle. All chips will be collected by volunteers at the finish line and returned to the timing company.
Packet pickup is at Snap Fitness, 301 Trophy Lake Drive Trophy Club, TX 76262, (817) 491-4924. Timing chips will be available Race Day only.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization that helps raise awareness of severely wounded heroes. Their mission is to: Honor and empower Wounded Warriors, raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of men and women, help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.
