Brief Description

GE Run Thru the Woods is celebrating 23 years as one of Texas’ premier running and walking family events. The Run Thru The Woods is a time for families and individuals to get exercise, have fun and help out a good cause. The charity event attracts more than 5000 annually. The 5-mile race is certified, TX07018ETM. NEW for 2012: 3 mile RUN is open to ALL ages.

Race Restrictions

No Pets Allowed at the Event. No Jogging Strollers or Strollers of any style, bikes, wagons, roller blades etc . . . are allowed in the 1 Mile Kids Race, 3 Mile Race or 5 Mile Race. Strollers and wagons are allowed on the walk course.

Race day morning registration available 6:00 - 7:30am.

General Information
The GE Run Thru the Woods is a race/walk designed for ages and levels of fitness. Proceeds benefit the South Montgomery County YMCA Partners Program, Oak Ridge High School Operation Graduation, The Woodlands High School Operation Graduation, Conroe ISD AFJROTC and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Education Outreach Program. In 2011, 5200 participants joined us on Thanksgiving Day morning and raised more than $150,000. Race Features:
USATF certified Uniquely designed quality t-shirts for all entrants Both a family event and a serious running event 5 Mile Race is USATF certified Cash awards for overall top 3 finishers, Male and Female, in 5 mile Race. Five year age divisions "B" timing tag for finish line resuts. 1 Mile Kids Race is also a timed event. Located near I-45 for easy access Post race party for all participants with refreshments, pancake breakfast, music, awards ceremony, and entertainment. Finisher Medals for everyone as they cross the finish line. Packet Pick Up For all registrations received by November 8, packets will be available to pick up Nov. 16 - 21, at the South Montgomery County YMCA, 6145 Shadowbend Place, The Woodlands. For directions please call 281-367-YMCA. Packet Pick Up closes at Noon on Wednesday Nov. 21. For registrations received after Nov. 8th, packets will be available to be picked up race day morning beginning at 6:00am at the CWM Pavilion in The Woodlands.
