Brief Description

GE Run Thru the Woods is celebrating 20 years as one of Texas’ premier running and walking family events. The Run Thru The Woods is a time for families and individuals to get exercise, have fun and help out a good cause. The charity event attracts more than 5000 annually. The 5-mile race is certified, TX07018ETM.

Race Restrictions

No Pets Allowed at the Event. No Jogging Strollers Allowed in the 1 Mile Kids Race, 3 Mile Teen Race or 5 Mile Race.

General Information
The GE Run Thru the Woods is a race/walk designed for ages and levels of fitness. Proceeds benefit the South Montgomery County YMCA Partners Program, Oak Ridge High School Operation Graduation, The Woodlands High School Operation Graduation, Conroe ISD AFJROTC and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Education Outreach Program. In 2009, 5100 participants joined us on Thanksgiving Day morning and raised $140,000. Race Features:
USATF certified Uniquely designed quality t-shirts for all entrants Both a family event and a serious running event 5 Mile Race is USATF certified Five year age divisions Located near I-45 for easy access Post race party for all participants with refreshments, music, awards ceremony, and entertainment. Packet Pick Up Please note on your entry form packet pick up location preference: Shadowbend YMCA or Lukes Locker in The Woodlands. For all registrations received by November 10, packets will be available to pick up Nov. 19 - 24, at the South Montgomery County YMCA, 6145 Shadowbend Place, The Woodlands. For directions please call 281-367-YMCA. For Lukes Locker, please call 281-419-0326 for Directions and Hours of Operation. Packet Pick Up closes at Noon on Wednesday Nov. 24th. For registrations received after Nov. 10th, packets will be available to be picked up race day morning beginning at 6:00am at the CWM Pavilion in The Woodlands.
