Brief Description

Hope Covenant Church is an evangelical church that is committed to teaching and living the Good News of God’s love.  We believe God’s call on our lives is “to bring good news to the poor…to comfort the brokenhearted…” (Isaiah 61:1-2, NLT).  This fund-raiser is to help the “poor and brokenhearted” in Haiti.  The vehicle that we will use to send aid to Haiti is Covenant World Relief.  Ninety-five percent of all proceeds will go to relief, only five percent is used for administrative costs.

Additional Information

Maison des Anges Orphanage
It is located in Port-au-Prince, only a few miles from the epicenter of the January 2010 earthquake. There are about 100 children who are cared for at Maison des Anges. The earthquake significantly damaged the building, rendering it uninhabitable. It will need to be rebuilt.

For now, the children are living in the courtyard, sheltered only by tarps and other temporary arrangements. It will be a challenge to keep the children healthy and safe in the post-earthquake environment.

Financial support is badly needed for food and supplies in the immediate term, and to rebuild the orphanage as soon as possible under these challenging circumstances. The orphanage directors are a caring, dedicated, hard working couple who have made this their life-long labor of love. They will deeply appreciate any help they receive for the children.

There are genuine servants who work to the point of emotional and physical exhaustion for these children on a daily basis. You can see when you look in their eyes how deep their passion is for the children. Even before the quake, the challenges they faced were indescribably difficult. It is just one obstacle after another.

Overall (run) and age group awards (run only) will be given out at each race. Only one medal per person (i.e., no double dipping)

The age groups (run only) are as follows: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.

Registration opens at 7:00 AM
