Additional Information
8:30am - 5K
The 5K benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters! Certification is pending for this course. Walkers follow runners. Online registration closes at midnight EST on June 12.
The Course
The Warren Wilson College campus is consistently called one of the most beautiful in the country. The course is mostly flat, and the entire route is off public streets. The course traverses the central campus on the way to the College Farm. After passing scenic pastures, a single track trail along the creek leads you to the organic garden. The final leg includes a beautiful pond, some uphill single track and broad views of the Swannanoa mountain range. Although some of the run will have to take place on pavement, the majority will be on dirt. Because of the course terrain, no strollers or dogs are allowed in the run. Click here for a course map.

The Cause
Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC works with adults who want to make a difference and children who need a caring role model in their lives. Kids with mentors are more likely to finish high school and enroll in college and less likely to join a gang or use drugs and alcohol. For many “Littles,” a Big Brother or Big Sister can help them see possibilities that they never knew existed.
