Brief Description

The flat 13.1 mile run route takes runners through the parks and streets of Sulphur, Louisiana. The out and back route begins near Center Circle Park on the east side of town. Runners travel on Maplewood Drive and Hazel Street through McMurray Park. Then one will continue to run westward past historical West Cal. Cam. Hospital and Brimestone Museum to Frasch Park. Once the path through the oak lined park is completed, runners will return back through McMurray Park to Center Circle Park.

Run for Team Erin

It all started running for Jimbo. In 2010, a group of woman runners were training for an out of town half marathon when a spouse was diagnosed with cancer. Rather than travelling to run, the group decided to “Run for Jimbo” and raise money for his family. The event was supported within the community and is now a fundraiser for other organizations or families. One of this year’s beneficiary is Erin Davidson. Run the 1Mile Fun Run/Walk or donate directly to her cause.

Get your feet on the streets.

The event is limited to 500 runners and applications accepted on a first-come/ first-served basis. All half marathon runners must be able to complete the course in 3.5 hours or less. All 1Miler Fun Run/Walk participants must complete the course in 30 minutes or less.
