Brief Description

The race will begin at 08:00 on Byers St. in the downtown Wharf area. The course loops through town and finishes on Byers St. Free parking is available in the Johnson St. garage and the New St. garage, each within a block of the starting area. Walkers will be using the same course as the runners this year.

Tom's Story

On January 24,2008, Tom was diagnosed with cancerous lesions in his liver. Tom was determined and fought until the end. Tom endured any and all side effects with dignity, hope for a cure, and with the hope for another day with his family and friends. Tom worked full-time at the Staunton Police Department, missing work only for treatments and doctor's appointments. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, and friend, and maintained a very close and involved relationship with his family and friends.

General Information

This year's race has been set for Saturday, May 5th, 2012. Those who are walking will use the same 5k route as the runners. There will not be a shorter walking route. Please join us on the 5th as we come together to remember Tom and support his family.

Packet Pick Up

Race packets can be picked up on Friday, May 4th, from 8am to 10pm, at the Staunton Police Department, located at 116 W. Beverley St. Packets may also be picked up on race day on Byers St. Need directions or have questions about packet pick up? Call 540-332-3845.

Awards

Medals will be awarded for the top three finishers in each age class for women and men (runners only). The age groups are as follows: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

Door Prizes

Everyone registered will be automatically entered to win one of several door prizes. Drawings will be held after the race.

Race Day Registration

Race day registration will be available between 7am and 730am.
