Brief Description

Race benefits the Mayland Community College Scholarship Fund. A first class race with some insane climbs and descents and intoxicating views. Top Male and Female finishers will receive a unique award. The top 50 finishers in the 15K will receive an award. The top 25 finishers in the 5K will receive an award.

15K

This 9.3 wheel measured course will test every part of your being. Views of the Black Mountain Range, steep climbs, descents that will pound your quads, flats and paths that will take you through two Christmas tree farms, a 360 degree view, lung busting ascents, probably some mud and rutted trails, rocky obstacles, and a long downhill to the finish. NO whining in this clearly marked race. (Guarantee you will walk.) Detailed course description will be emailed prior to race.

5K

Same views. Same start. Same initial climb and finishing descent as the 15K. Walkers welcome.

Additional Information

This race is one of the most difficult, yet gratifying, 15K races you will ever experience. The 5K is a little more tame. Last year's race was a test of will considering the storm that passed through. Mayland College is an excellent host and the trails are incredible. Prizes are top notch.
