The Creek Fest Adventure races descriptions.
The Sprint - Adventure Race is a fun and challenging 2 hour race. The race will take place in and around
Collins Park and on Cypress Creek. Racers can expect the race legs to include -
4K to 6K trail run on paved and unpaved surfaces. +- 30 min.
2k to 4k paddle along Cypress Creek +- 30 min.
8k to 10k mountain bike section +- 30 min.
3k to 5k urban scavenger hunt +- 30 min.
The estimated winning time for the sprint AR is 1 ½ hours with the main pack finishing in 2 to 2 ½ hours.
Racers will leave gear with volunteers before the race at boat and bike “drops”.
The 5K - run will be on the paved asphalt trails and some unpaved dirt trails in and around Collins Park.
You can expect water at the 2.5k mark as well as at the Start and finish line.
The 10K - run will be on the paved asphalt trails and some unpaved dirt trails in and around Collins Park.
The route may include a loop or lap. Runner can expect water at 2.5k 5k and the 7.5k mark as well as at
the Start and finish line.
The Duathlon – will consist of a 5k run on paved and unpaved trails +-3k paddle down Cypress Creek and
a < 1k run to the finish.
Adventure Race and Duathlon boats- Racers may bring their own boat – kayak, canoe, or inflatable as
this will be an “open” class paddle. Boats will be available on-line at registration first come first served
basis. Racers might want to consider renting boats from R.E.I. or South West Paddle sports or other
vendors in the area.
Awards and prizes
1. All racers will receive a Creek Fest DRI-FIT type shirt and finisher medal.
2. 1st 2nd and 3rd place medals will be given for each race.
3. Prizes will be raffled to all races immediately after awards racers must be at the awards to
win.
All races course subject to adjustment, change, modification, and creative license but whatever the day
has in store expect to have some fun being challenged with something new and to have an adventure.
