Brief Description

Marathon , Relay and Half-Marathon are hilly courses partly along the Spokane River. The 10K run is on the Centennial Trail

Relay

Relay teams have four members.--male, female or mixed.(2 male and 2 female, or 3 females and 1 male) Relay legs are approximately six miles. Members are responsible for getting to the exchange points. Go to spokanemarathon.us for information on exchange points

Number pickup and Late Registration

Residents of the Spokane area should pick up their numbers on Friday, October 12 fron 4 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 13 between noon and 4:30 . Pickup is at the Doubltree Hotel, 322 N Spokane Falls Ct. Out of town registrants may pick up numbers on race morning at Runners Soul, 22 N. Wall., or on Saturday at the hotel. There is no day of race registration. You cannot change races on race morning

Start Times

Marathon - 8:00 a.m. Half Marathon - 9:00 a.m. Relay - starts with the marathon at 8:00 a.m. 10K -8:30 a.m. Early Marathon Start- 7:00 a.m

7:00 a.m. Start

This start is only for those who plan to finish the marathon in more than five hours. Do not use this start just to finish early . Anyone who takes this start and finishes in less than 4:45 may be disqualified. You must take this start if you plan to finish in more than 5 hours. Runners must be at the 24 mile mark by 12:35 (a six hour marathon) to finish. The course will close promptly at 1:00 p.m. Unsure about which start time to take? Call Dori @509-999-5856.

Shirts

Half Marathon and Relay runners will receive a long sleeved "technical" shirt. Marathon runners receive a sweatshirt, and 10 K runners a short sleeved T-shirt. Please be aware that the shirts are unisex. Runners who register by mail after September 26 , or on line after September 28, will not receive a shirt.

Until 9/8 $30.00per person with shirt. $15.00 without shirt

Relay Waivers

Each relay participant must agree to the waiver. Each participant under 18 must have a parent or guardian signature. You will not be issued a chip without the required signature.

Host Hotel

This year the host hotel for the Spokane Marathon is the Doubletree Hotel,322 N Spokane Falls Ct. Spokane. The hotel is within walking disance of the start lines. Please mention the Spokane Marathon when making reservations so you can receive the discounted rate

Late Fees

Fees 9/9 to 9/2 with shirt: Marathon $80.00, Half marathon $70, Relay $50.00 each, 10K $20.00 You must register by 9/28 to get a shirt. Fees 9/8to 9/26 without shirt Marathon $40, Half Marathon $35 , Relay $35.00, 10K $15.00 . 9/27 -10/13 (n shirt available) Marathon $50. Half Marathon $40, 10L $20.

Headphones and wheelchairs

Headphones/ear buds are not premitted in these races. This is for safety reasons. The course is not a closed course and runners must be able to hear traffic and course volunteers. Those seen wearing them may be disqualified. Please cooperate in this matter. Handcycles ae not allowed in these races. Wheelchair participants are welcome.

Additional Information

The 8:00 a.m. marathon start is for people who can run a marathon in less than five hours. There will be a 7:00 a.m. start for those who plan to finish in more than five hours. You must take this start if you plan to finish in more than five hours. Any one who takes this start and finishes in less than 4:45 is subject to disqualification. Runners must be at the 24 mile mark by 12:35 to finish this marathon. A 6-hour marathon is 13:45 minutes per mile.
