It's back! The Northern Nevada American Heart Walk is excited to have a 5K run back in the mix. All proceeds go to support the AHA and their mission to fight heart disease and stroke through research and education. This years runs will start at Scheels in Sparks and promise to be a great start to a Sunday morning.
Sunday, September 23: 7:30am-8:45am and will take place in the Scheels Parking Lot. Race Day Registration Fee is $45.00
Saturday, September 22: 2:00pm - 5:00pm and will take place in the Scheels Training Rooms (2nd floor, east side, by restrooms). Sunday, September 23: 7:30am – 8:45am and will take place in the Scheels Parking Lot.* *To avoid long lines, we encourage you to pick up your packets on Saturday!
The 5K run will start and finish in front of the Scheels awning. The majority of the race will utilize city streets. Policemen and volunteers will be along the course to control the flow of traffic.
Timing will be conducted by Lynn Mentzer and Dave Nolte.
All participants will receive an official race tee. The Top 3 Men and Top 3 Women will receive awards. We will also be giving out an award for Best 70s Dress, so make sure you get your retro gear out and show off your groovy side!
Family Fun exhibitors will include Renown, Saint Mary’s, IGT, Waste Management, Champion Chevrolet, Scheels, REMSA, Meadows Bank and will also feature an exciting kids zone!
