Ken Rome Foundation
This Fund will support the Marathon Study at the Mpls Heart Institute to seek to understand the relationship between coronary artery plaque formation and risk factors. The study, using the newest technology, is being conducted by Principal Investigator Robert Schwartz, MD, FACC, and his colleagues. The goal of the Research Fund will hopefully allow a better understanding of these athletes’ risk of heart attack and sudden cardiac death.
About Ken Rome............
This event is a tribute to Ken Rome. Ken dedicated his career to insuring that the newest and most effective heart therapies were made available to all who needed them through his long career with the cardiac pacing industry and Boston Scientific. Ken died on March 2, 2008 of sudden cardiac death caused by vulnerable plaque rupture, the so called “Silent Killer”. What better way to celebrate the passionately lived life of this extraordinary man than a run in Ken’s footsteps.
