Brief Description

Last year over 300 runners and spectators enjoyed a spectacular September morning as they took part in our landmark coastal run to raise money for family literacy in our community. The historic Smith Point Bridge offers panoramic ocean vistas of Long Island’s magnificent national seashore. The run begins on the barrier beach, continues over the Moriches Bay on the Smith Point Bridge, goes north onto William Floyd Parkway, and then back south over the bridge.

Family Fun Walk

Family fun Walk with Clifford the Big Red Dog starts at 9:15 a.m. and costs $15 per family to register.

Location Details

The historic Smith Point Bridge is the focal point of this race set in Shirley, New York. The Bridge offers panoramic ocean vistas of Long Island’s magnificent national seashore. The race begins on the barrier beach, continues over the Moriches Bay on the Smith Point Bridge, north onto William Floyd Parkway, and then back south over the Bridge and along the park’s inner roadway.

A new feature of our race is the 2K Fun Walk along the Smith Point County Park's inner roadway.
