Abby is a 10 year old parishioner of Corpus Christi who was diagnosed two years ago with a cervical AVM (arteriovenous malformation). An AVM is a congenital abnormal formation and connection of veins and arteries. In Abby's case, the AVM is in her neck, or cervical spine. It is wrapped around the spinal cord and has actually grown in place of some of her bones in her C-spine area. Abby’s condition has required her and her parents to travel numerous times per year to New York and Arizona for specialized treatment. Abby’s family has asked that 10% of the proceeds from the Holiday Hilltop Run go to the Corpus Christi Building Fund to thank the parish for the support they have received during this challenging time.
