All proceeds will go to help victims of the worst drought in recent history in Kenya. We’ll use the funds to help families make it through the drought, giving them food and water. We’ll also empower families to become drought resistant in the future, through agricultural and educational programs.
The 5K takes runners through the heart of beautiful, historic Downtown Selma known as the "Butterfly Capital of the world" along an out-and-back route that unfolds through several of the city's historic homes, and brings runners through the Old Cemetary along the home stretch in to the finish line in Bloch Park.
Each runner will receive a free T-Shirt (register by September 15, 2011 to insure a T-Shirt in your size). Additional T-Shirts can be purchased on race day, while supplies last. The first 200 runners also receive a free squeeze water bottle.
Timing & Results are provided by Runner Fit Race Works. Results will be posted online immediately after race at www.runnersfit.com, www.active.com, www.coolrunning.com, and www.runningintheusa.com.
