As one of Arizona's oldest and finest distance events, the Runner’s Den/Fiesta Bowl Half Marathon & 5K is pleased to welcome the return of the "Girls on the Run serving Maricopa and Pinal Counties" program and host it's girls, coaches and Running Buddies in it's own 5K graduation running event.
This special entry is to be used only if you are interested in participating as a "Running Buddy" for the Girls on the Run program in the Runner's Den Fiesta Bowl 5K on December 2, 2012.
The job of a Running Buddy is to accompany and encourage one or two girls through her 5K experience. That means running or walking at her pace and encouraging her to do her best, while also recognizing and respecting her limits. Please note that part of signing up as a Buddy includes registering and paying the fee for the 5K event. This is a mandatory step for anyone wanting to be confirmed as a Running Buddy. Also, basic background checks may be run on anyone applying as a Buddy
Technical Fabric T-Shirts, Chronotrack Chip Timing for all Running Buddy participants. A fast, flat course and Beautiful December weather, make this the "must do" Fall Classic.
6:00am Registration Opens. 7:30 am Half Marathon Start. 7:35am 5K Run Start. 7:37am GOTR 5K Start w/Running Buddies 7:39 am 5K Walk Start.
$23 Through Nov 20 (Running Buddy Deadline)
All courses are flat and fast loops touring scenic Scottsdale and Gainey Ranch. Both the ½ Marathon and 5K courses are USAT&F certified. For a course map, go to ww.RacePlaceEvents.com
The top three 5K run finishers in each of the following categories will receive awards: 11 & under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+
