POST EVENT PARTY AND EXPO ON THE WORLD FAMOUS SANTA MONICA PIER!
Come to the Santa Monica Pier and check out the latest running gear (shoes and apparel), nutrition, some great food as well as some other great vendors. The expo will be open from 8:30am - 12 noon. The normal Pier operations will also be going on, so feel free to buy a ticket for a great Ferris wheel ride!
RACE CATEGORIES / DIVISIONS
We're offering different categories for all type of runners. Choose between Age Group (most of us), Elite (those really fast people) and the Baby Jogger Division (bring out your baby and spend the day with other parents). There is no minimum age for the babies (but doctors recommend waiting to run until they can hold their head up). We will also be introducing the 2.7k Kids Dash for the younger ones who want to participate in the fun.
The start will be sectioned off by each wave starting with the Elites / Age Groupers / Baby Joggers. And with chip timing, you're time doesn't start until you cross the starting line!
ELITE WEST COAST INVITATIONAL
The elite wave featurrd top athletes from around the Southland. Come see the top runners compete for prize money and world records!
Prize Money / Time Bonus Structure
Santa Monica 5000 (Men and Women):
1st $800 / 2nd $600 / 3rd $200.
Santa Monica 10000 (Men and Women): 1st Overall $600 / 1st Santa Monica Resident* $200
* Winners must be able to present a driver's license with a valid Santa Monica address.
GOODIE BAG PICK UP. We'll be having goodie bag and bib number pick up on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at K-Swiss from 12pm-4pm. Come in, get your race number and goodie bag and check out some of the latest apparel at the store.
