Brief Description

PIER TO PEAK 2013 Scenic and challenging Endurance Event. Climb from Oceanstarting at SB Wharf's Dolphin Fountain, past the historic Queen of the Missions and Rose Gardens, beyond Flores Flats, the Sunburst Hippie Commune of the 60's up Gilbrator Road to Camino Cielo and to Look Out Park in the Los Padres National Forest to a view of the start point of the race: elevation 4000 feet.

Race Start Time

One start for all...walkers and runners must start at 6:30 when the horn is sounded.

Shuttle Service

Hired shuttles and buses will return runners and walkers to Cota and Santa Barbara Street...about 8 blocks from the start point of the event.

Parking

Garden Street Beach lot is just feet away from the start. Fees to apply. Free parking is available but be sure to check the signage in the neighboring areas....or park close to the shuttle drop off area and walk to the start.

Spectators

This run,once through the city, is on mountain roads. Traffic is limited to one direction, Up the Course and beyond the gated park. Traffic can not enter Look Out park and drivers will be directed to park on the right side of the road ONLY...along the course do not engage runners. Use the pull outs and cheer your friends on up the mountain

Viewing Vistas

The Hairpin Turn at mile 7.5...great views as you can see the runners along switchbacks making their way to the Hairpin. Mile 11-12. Lots of parking and a good place to energize your friends. The Finish, you get short work out and then seethe panoramic views that the runners had earned

Additional Information

Full Packet and Bib Pick Up will be held at 110 Anacapa Street on Friday August 30th in Hazards Bike Shop 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday August 31st in the Santa Barbara Running Store from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers are always needed and welcome. Please check in along with runners on Saturday at Bib Pick Up.
