Santa Barbara Nite Moves 2010 is a series of 18 evening parties at Leadbetter Beach Park in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. In addition to the running and swimming events every Wednesday: May 5 through September 1, 2010, each week features a guest Presenting Sponsor, Featured Buffet Host, the FIRESTONE Beer Garden, local Santa Barbara Entertainment and a Sunset on the shore of The American Riveria.
Our backdrop is a fantastic view of the SB Channel and Anacapa Island, and the sails of the Wet Wednesday racing fleet.
Join us for for Nite Moves '2010: our 22nd season. Check out the MERMAIDS tents where the Mermaids will share thier adventures as they tour to promote awareness in how we all can help to save our oceans and our planet. XTerra wetsuits will again be a featured prize.
Your evening workout can be a vigorous or casual walk, a fun or competitive SHORELINE 5K run, a XTERRA 1K OPEN OCEAN SWIM or the challenge of the PACIFIC BEVERAGE AQUATHON: 1K to 1 mile swim (varies as the season progresses)and a 3.5 mile run. Novice, casual or competitive doesn't matter. The clock bothers you, you can't run...join our "Walk For A Cause" program. A one mile non-competative walk supporting various local and national causes...and you will be signed up for all the Nite Moves treats too.

We all come out for a great social event unlike any other. Top off your evening with a cold drink, and a hot...yes hot...entree sampling at the post race buffet, dessert and more...save yourself a place on the lush new lawn of Leadbetter Park on the coast of the American Riveria. Listening to a local band and enjoy the Pacific sunset and you might even walk away with a great prize from the nightly bib drawing...and we have a children's/tots soft sand sprint just for the kids with rewards from McConnells Ice Cream. Fun for the whole family. Kids under 6 free with an adult registration. Special events vary week to week with awards for various challenges as detailed in our brochures. Ocean conditions vary...Many brave this distance without a suit...Great workout for getting swim experience in a crowd as we usually have a 100 swimmers at the starting line...5K Footraces begin at the East end of Shoreline. Out and back course with majestic views of the Santa Ynes Mountains circling Santa Barbara, race back and view Stearns Wharf, finishing in Leadbetter Beach Park.
