Brief Description

The course: All races are run on the grounds of Camp Roberts, just north of San Miguel, California. Out-and-back course on paved road with dirt and packed gravel shoulders. Flat to gentle rolling hills, with breathtaking views of oak-studded hillsides, Salinas and Nacimiento Rivers and abundant Central Coast wildlife. Start line is at 750' and rises to 1250' between mile 4 and 6.

Additional Information

Purpose: Active and Healthy Lifestyle promotion fundraiser for the athletic program at Lillian Larsen School in San Miguel. This is a low income rural school district and funds are used to cover entry fees, uniforms, referees, equipment, field and course markings, physicals, and when possible scholarships to summer camps for high school bound students to get noticed on entry. Location: Southern end of the fertile Salinas Valley, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, in the Paso Robles Wine Country north of San Luis Obispo. Home of the San Miguel Mission. Hearst Castle, Lakes Nacimiento and San Antonio, Mission San Antonio, Mission San Luis Obispo,and Cal Poly University are all nearby. Weather: Moderate February climate upper 50's to mid 60's by day and upper 30's to low 40's overnight. Average annual rainfall is less than 15" - low relative humidity.
