Brief Description

Come run (or walk!) alongside the famous Madonna Inn and up beautiful Cerro San Luis in picturesque San Luis Obispo. This run is perfect for first time runners or walkers who want to enjoy the community feeling of San Luis Obispo and for experienced runners who want to test their legs on Cerro San Luis. Hang around after the run for the Health & Fitness Expo, featuring over 100 local health and fitness professionals, educational seminars, dance performances, and free medical testing!

Registration

Pre-register and save $5 on your entry! Pre-registration is $25. Day of registration is $30. Day of registration and packet pick-up will be available on Saturday at the Alex Madonna Expo Center from 7:30am - 8:15am.

Course

5K begins and ends at the Alex Madonna Expo Center. From the Expo Center, run down the road toward the Madonna Inn and turn right onto the bike path. Proceed to the end of the bike path, then turnaround and head toward Cerro San Luis. Cross through the parking area for Cerro San Luis (Marsh St. side), and run approximately 3/4 of a mile up the mountain. At the turnaround, return to the bike path and follow it back toward Madonna Rd and finishing up the road to the Expo Center.

Amenities

Each participant will receive a t-shirt (please select your size from S-XL) and goodie bag. Run will be professionally timed by Eternal Timing. Results will be posted at the Expo Center. There will be one water station on the course at the Cerro San Luis parking lot. Water will also be available at the finish line. Attend the free Health & Fitness Expo at 9am to meet local professionals, watch performances, and get free medical testing!

Proceeds to Benefit: CHC TOPP

Community Health Centers Teen Obesity Prevention Program (CHC TOPP) is a school-based program that promotes proper nutrition and exercise for local at-risk youth. CHC has been a part of the SLO County Health and Fitness Expo since 2009. Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit network of 26 licensed health centers that provide medical services to all people, with an emphasis on the under-served, uninsured and at-risk patients.

Directions

From Hwy 101 North: Exit Madonna Road. Stay in middle lane at stop light. Proceed straight into the Madonna Inn. From Hwy 101 South: Exit Madonna Road. Turn left at stop light. Turn right at next stop light into the Madonna Inn. Both: Stay right to follow the road around the Madonna Inn Parking Lot. Proceed through gate on your right to the Expo Center. Parking is free and available at the Expo Center.
