Join us for a beautiful day in the hills of Almaden as we join together to raise money for Samantha Green. Meet at the Mockingbird Hill entrance for a 9am start time.
Samantha Green was born with a very rare genetic condition: Primary Autosommal Recessive Microcephaly. In addition to her primary diagnosis, she has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. At birth, her parents were told that their daughter would be a “vegetable” but Samantha has beaten the odds; she is walking and beginning to use her hands. She has amazed her doctors, therapists, teachers – and of course her friends and family.
We are holding Sweatin’ for Sammy – 5k to raise the money necessary for a specialized therapy she will attend in September. Samantha will attend Now I Can, an intensive physical therapy program that has shown great success with cerebral palsy patients. A three week session costs $6,000 and even though many insurance companies cover the therapy, the Green’s insurance does not. We have been, and will continue to work hard to raise these funds to help Samantha!
