Brief Description

ING Bay to Breakers 12K was recently named by ESPN one of the 101 things every sports fan must do before they die. Founded in 1912, it is one of the oldest road races in the United States and is renowned for its truly unique and irreverent character. World-class athletes share this course with runners, walkers and some of the most outrageously costumed participants from around the globe. 2010 will be the 99th consecutive running of this historic event.

Registration details

Registration fee includes Ipico tag timing, with the 4th in a series of 5 custom-designed collectable souvenir tags leading up to the 100-year anniversary of the race & celebrating historic landmarks along the course. Registration also includes a participant T-shirt, ING Footstock (the post race festival in Golden Gate Park), emergency services, security, permits, water, portable toilets & cleanup. Registration fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and are not tax-deductible.

Restrictions

For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, race organizers and the San Francisco Police Department will enforce City ordinances regarding alcohol. Kegs and glass bottles will be removed from the racecourse. Anyone publicly drinking or displaying public drunkenness on or along the racecourse will be subject to fines and prosecution. Additionally no grocery carts, pets, roller blades, skateboards, bicycles, headphones, or plastic bags for warm-ups are allowed on the course.

Race Packets and Mailing Option

There is no packet pick-up or registration on race day. Race Packets contain your timing tag, race bib and instructions. Participants who register prior to May 1 may opt to have their race packet mailed to them for an additional fee of $9.99. Participants who register on or after May 1st must pick up their Race packets at the ING Greater Body Expo location: East Concourse, S.F. Design Center, 620 7th Street, SF. NO packet pickup BEFORE May 14th

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up

There is no packet pick-up or registration on race day.

Finish Line closes @ Noon; Course diverted @ 11:30

The course will close at 11:30 AM and be diverted onto Chain of Lakes Drive East. Participants who do not pass the diversion point by 11:30 AM WILL NOT have the opportunity to cross the finish line. The finish line will close at Noon. Once the course is closed, participants should head south on Chain of Lakes Drive to access the ING Footstock Festival and event shuttles; or north on Chain of Lakes to exit the Park at 43rd and Fulton.
