Brief Description

Bay to Breakers 12K, celebrating its 101st consecutive running in 2012, has been named by ESPN one of the top things every sports fan must do before they die. Founded in 1912, it is one of the oldest road races in the world and is renowned for its truly unique and irreverent character. World-class athletes share this course with runners, walkers and some of the most outrageously costumed participants from around the globe.

Registration details

Registration includes race bib with built-in b-tag timing and a commemorative finisher medal; along with official results and the Zazzle Final Mile Festival (just beyond the finish area). Registration fees also cover the costs of permitting, emergency services, security, water, toilets and cleanup associated with the race. Registration fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and are not tax-deductible.

T-Shirts

Registrants who purchase a Plus Registration will receive a cotton adidas participant shirt, and registrants who purchase a Premium Registration will receive a performance adidas participant shirt. The Basic registration does NOT include t-shirt. Registrants who purchase Plus and Premium registration can pick up their shirts at Expo or after the finish at the Zazzle Final Mile - t-shirts are not mailed out before the race.

Restrictions

For everyone's safety and enjoyment, no floats will be allowed anywhere on the course. City ordinances regarding alcohol will be enforced, and no alcohol will be permitted on the course. Anyone publicly drinking or displaying public drunkenness on or along the course will be subject to fines and prosecution. Additionally no headphones, no pets, and no wheeled objects of any type, such as baby joggers, strollers, grocery carts, roller blades, skateboards or bicycles, are allowed on the course.

Floats

No floats will be allowed on the race course at any point.

Race Packets and Mailing Option

There is no packet pick-up or registration on race day. Race Packets contain your race bib with b-tag and race day instructions. Participants may opt to have their race packet mailed to them for an additional fee of $9.99. Participants who choose to pick up their packets may do so at the Zazzle Greater Body Expo. NO packet pickup BEFORE May 18th.

There is no packet pick-up or registration on race day.

Finish Line closes @ Noon

The finish line will close promptly at noon.

Point-to-point, mostly flat with a steep hill - the famous Hayes St. Hill summit at the 2.5 mile mark; gradual downhill through beautiful Golden Gate Park.
