Brief Description

Bay to Breakers 12K, celebrating its 100th consecutive running in 2011, has been named by ESPN one of the top things every sports fan must do before they die. Founded in 1912, it is one of the oldest road races in the world and is renowned for its truly unique and irreverent character. World-class athletes share this course with runners, walkers and some of the most outrageously costumed participants from around the globe.

Registration details

Registration fee includes d-tag timing, race bib, and official results. Fee also includes Zazzle Footstock entry (post race festival at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park), emergency services, security, permits, water, portable toilets & cleanup. All registered finishers will receive a commemorative finisher T-shirt. Additionally, all registered finishers will receive a finisher medal only available for 2011! Registration fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and are not tax-deductible.

Restrictions

For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, race organizers and the San Francisco Police Department will enforce City ordinances regarding alcohol. Alcohol will be removed from the race course. Anyone publicly drinking or displaying public drunkenness on or along the racecourse will be subject to fines and prosecution. Additionally no headphones and no wheeled objects of any type, such as baby joggers, strollers, grocery carts, pets, roller blades, skateboards, or bicycles, are allowed on the course.

Floats

No floats will be allowed on the race course at any point.

Race Packets and Mailing Option

There is no packet pick-up or registration on race day. Race Packets contain your timing tag, race bib and instructions. Participants may opt to have their race packet mailed to them for an additional fee of $9.99. Participants who choose to pick up their packets may do so at the Zazzle Greater Body Expo location: West Concourse, S.F. Design Center, 635 8th St, SF. NO packet pickup BEFORE May 13th.

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up

There is no packet pick-up or registration on race day.

Finish Line closes @ Noon

The finish line will close promptly at noon.

Point-to-point, mostly flat with a steep hill - the famous Hayes St. Hill summit at the 2.5 mile mark; gradual downhill through beautiful Golden Gate Park.
