Brief Description

The San Diego Triathlon Classic features San Diego’s Premiere Olympic Distance Race consisting of a 1500m flat-water protected swim, a 40k hilly bike course, and a 10k flat run. Participants will have the opportunity to swim in the NTC boat canal, ride from Liberty Station through the Naval Submarine Base at Point Loma, and up to Cabrillo National Park and run throughout San Diego’s newest Parks and Rec addition, NTC Park at Liberty Station.

Late Registration

Late registration is available at Moment Cycle Sport (2816 Historic Decatur Rd, Suite 135, San Diego, CA 92106) through September 16th. Call 619-523-2453 or stop in to register. You may also register at the Expo on September 16th from 2:00-7:00pm.

Expo

Friday, September 16 from 2:00pm-7:00pm Location: Moment Cycle Sport 2816 Historic Decatur Rd Suite 135, San Diego, CA 92106 The expo is mandatory for all race participants. You will pick up race materials (swim cap, timing chip, race numbers, and race t-shirts) at this time. Waivers must be signed and you must show your USAT membership card, or pay the $10 single-day membership.

VIP

VIP check in on Saturday (race day) is available if you are unable to attend. A $30 fee applies.

Race Features

RACE FEATURES: The 2011 race features 5-Split timing, post race refreshments, beer garden, live entertainment, and an awards ceremony. All participants will receive race t-shirts, a finisher’s medal, and a goodie bag. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each category. Results will be posted online immediately following the race.

Refund Policy

REFUND POLICY: Partial refunds and transfers are available. If you must un-register you may do so until August 17. There will be a $25 processing fee to refund the entry. Transfers are available until August 31. There is a $20 transfer fee and there will be no exceptions or late transfers. You can transfer your entry to another participant, or to the 2012 race. Contact the Race Directors at race@momentcyclesport.com to transfer or refund your entry.

Additional Information

The San Diego Triathlon Classic boasts the most spectator friendly transition and course areas in all of Southern California. A unique multi-loop course allows spectators, families, and friends to see participants multiple times during the course of the event, as well as at the finish line. In addition to the beautiful views of the downtown skyline and San Diego Bay, there are restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, a children’s playground, additional park space, and additional shopping opportunities within walking distance of the start/finish area. Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
