First Annual Black Cat 10 or 20 Miler!

The Black Cat 10-20miler is a new endurance run based out of Salem to help runners prep for the Boston Marathon or just a great winter goal to keep us all focused on a great challenge. The course will be a two loop run mostly consisting of the Wicked 1/2 Marathon course. It will be mostly flat and fast!

Allies Relay-20 mile option only

Each team can have 2-4 members. The relay sites will be Devereux Beach and Bentley School. The leg from Bentley to Devereux Beach is 4.5 miles and the Devereux Beach to Bentley leg will be 5.5 miles. The 2 person team options: 1) One 10 mile loop each 2) 14.5 mile & 5.5 mile 3) 4.5 miles and 15.5 miles The 3-4 person team options: 1) 10 mile, 4.5 mile & 5.5 mile (or vice versa) 2) 4.5 mile, 5.5 mile, 4.5 mile & 5 mile.

Course

The course is going to be one of the best around! We will start down by Salem Willows and follow Rt. 114 into Marblehead. The turn around will be the entrance into Devereux Beach on the beautiful Marblhead Neck. Back down through historic Salem, Derby Street and back to the Willows to finish. The only big hill is entering into Marblehead, there are a few other hills on the course but nothing major. There will be plenty of volunteers and police keeping the runners safe. One loop is 10miles.

Run For Allie

On August 24, 2009, 15-year-old Allie Castner was tragically struck and killed by a car as she was crossing the street in her hometown, Marblehead, Massachusetts. Allie touched and enriched so many lives. It is through the Allie Castner Scholarship Fund that Allie will live on, providing other young high school students with the opportunity to benefit while representing the honor, integrity and purpose with which Allie celebrated each and every day: Loving, Living & Learning. .

Allie Castner Scholarship Fund

By supporting this worthy cause, we can all continue to hold Allie’s world – her spirit, her memory, and her remarkable life – in our hearts forever. Runners can choose which every category you prefer: there are two categoires; $5 donation or $10 donation. Anyone who runs for Allie will be given a special gift, and the top three overall in each race will be given a special award. All runners will have a chance to place in their age group category as well.
