Brief Description

Join us for our second annual Whale of a 5k Trail Race & Kid's Fun Run in Odiorne Point State Park.Our cross-country trail run was created by Eastern Mountain Sports' Extreme Team captain, Jennifer Shultis, and will bring you through the forest, rocky shore, sandy beach, and alongside historic military fortifications. The Kids Fun Run for ages 12 and under includes a 100 yard dash and/or a 1/2 mile run.

Directions to the Seacoast Science Center

From 95 North or South Take exit 5 on I -95 N or S to the Portsmouth Traffic Circle. Take Rt 1 By-Pass South to Beaches/Hampton. After 1 mile the road connects with Rt 1 South. Follow Rt 1 South for 1 mile. At the third traffic light (sixth from traffic circle), take left onto Elwyn Road, go approximately 1.3 miles to the roundabout at Foye's Corner. Go half-way around the roundabout onto Rt 1A South. Go 1.8 miles to the main entrance of Odiorne Point State Park (on left).

Additional Information

Come prepared to run on varied terrain and whatever the weather may bring. Competitive and non-competitive runners are welcome.5k participants under age 12 should be accompanied by an adult. No dogs please. Prizes will be awarded for winners in different age and gender categories for the Whale of a 5k Race. Men & Women, 12 and under, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and above. Prizes will be awarded to ALL Kid's Fun Run participants. T-shirts are available to the first 200 5k Race registrants.
