Brief Description

The 5th annual AdvoKate Run/Walk is a fun, family-oriented fitness event with a 10k Run, 5k Run, 5k walk and 1 mile walk/run. A post-run family party in the park follows with entertainment, raffle prizes and activities for children. All proceeds support pediatric brain tumor research at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a non-profit treatment and research facility treating children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases, regardless of health insurance status.

Additional Information

2011 marks the 5th year of this annual event honoring 6-year-old Kate Hrischuk of Rochester, MI, who lost her courageous battle with an intrinsic brain stem glioma in early 2007. advoKate was founded by Kate's parents whom have taken on the mission to raise awareness about the issue of limited available research on the disease that took their daugher's life. For more information about Kate and her story, visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/katehrischuk | -- About St. Jude Children's Research Hospital -- St. Jude has been named top children’s cancer hospital in the nation by leading national publications, and, in 2010, was ranked highest in trust in the United States, according to a public survey conducted by the international research firm Harris Interactive.
