Brief Description

Whether you are a newbie or experienced Triathlete, Tri Roanoke Valley Sprint Triathlon will offer you a challenging day. Last years event was reported to be one of the best professionally organized venues, and challenging sprint races of the year.

Swim

The 300 yard swim will be located in the Aquatic Center indoor pool. Swimmers will enter the pool every 15 seconds beginning with the fastest swimmers.

Bike

The bike course is a 14.8 mile out and back course that will allow for both town and country settings while giving the participant a taste of rolling hills and flat terrain. You will cross over beautiful Roanoke Rapids Lake. This is a scenic, but challenging bike course.

Run

The 3.1 mile run course will be a challenge to all participants. The one loop rolling hills course will carry you through local residential communities and along the scenic Roanoke River Road development.

Awards

All participants who finish the race will be rewarded with a finisher’s metal and awards will be given to winners of each division. This course will be a USAT sanctioned event.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
