This year we have a new Race Director, Greg English --- he is setting up our course accuracy and timing! We will be running/walking within beautiful Fairmont Park. This Olmsted-designed park (he also designed Central Park and Prospect Park in New York City) features rose gardens, several lakes, a bandshell, and a beautiful restored historic boathouse. Our 5K Dash is to promote awareness of dyslexia and other learning difficulties and to raise funds to aid on-going programs in four major areas: information, referrals, conferences, workshops. Literacy issues (poor reading and writing skills) are a national public health concern because of the impact they have on social skills, employment, and especially self-esteem. You may register as team. Individual in each team still may compete for prizes, but all members of team receive a special medal. Be sure to include your team name on the registration form. We are selling raffle tickets which may be used for several different items and activities. These may be used for our raffle or for our activities such as face painting, and/or rock wall climbing.
