We will be running/walking within beautiful Fairmont Park. This Olmsted-designed park (he also designed Central Park and Prospect Park in New York City) features rose gardens, several lakes, a bandshell, and a beautiful restored historic boathouse. Our 5K Dash is to promote awareness of dyslexia and other learning difficulties and to raise funds to aid on-going programs in four major areas: information, referrals, conferences, workshops. Literacy issues (poor reading and writing skills) are a national public health concern because of the impact they have on social skills, employment, and especially self-esteem.
You may register as team. Individual in each team still may compete for prizes, but all members of team receive a special medal. Be sure to include your team name on the registration form.
