Brief Description

A 5K Run/Walk and a 1K Fun Run (kids/seniors) on Veterans Day benefiting THE FREEMAN PROJECT
a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to honor the memory of Marine Captain Matthew Freeman (Richmond Hill) killed in 2009 while serving in Afghanistan. The organization is dedicated to collecting school supplies and shipping them to our military units in Afghanistan and other war-torn counties for distribution by our military personnel directly to the children themselves.

MILITARY PARTICIPANTS & GROUPS OF 10 OR MORE

Military participants (Military ID required, includes spouse and children with Military ID) and Groups of 10 or more registering together receive a $5 discount off the event price per person as long as the registration form is received PRIOR to race day. Race day ALL participants pay $30 (5K) and $20 (1K).

REGISTRATION

PRIOR TO RACE DAY, participants can register on-line through active, print registration forms from our website at www.freemanproject.org and mail them in, or register in person during our packet pick-up days scheduled for Th Nov 8th, Fr Nov 9th, and Sun Nov 11th from 1 pm to 5 pm at the location noted on our website. RACE DAY registration occurs on site beginning at 7 am. No discounts for military or groups available on race day. (On-line registrations ends at 6 pm EST Sun Nov 11th.)

1K FUN RUN for kids and seniors

NEW!! for 2012. 1K Fun Run for kids (under 12) and seniors (60 and over). No medals awarded. No T-shirts or race bags. The Fun Run will take place after the 5K race and before the awards ceremony.

RACE PACKETS and T-SHIRTS

Every participant receives a race packet (with goodies from our sponsors) and a T-shirt.

AWARDS for 5K RUN FOR PEACE

5K RUN FOR PEACE M/F Awards 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers, overall & masters (age 50+). Regular age group categories for age level awards.
