Pace for Poverty

Thank you for your interest in the Pace for Poverty run. Your participation in this event will assist the local police and fire rescue units, and provide local provisions for families in need. Funds from the event will also be used to build capacity in low income families to become self-sufficient through access to job training and education, open savings accounts, work toward home-ownership and build opportunity. Lindsay's Race

The Sponsors of the Pace for Poverty Run wish to acknowledge the outstanding work by the Lindsay Cornelius Memorial Run hosts. That event preceeded the Pace for Poverty and raised funds to support the local police and fire rescue units, as well as providing bike helmets to many in our community. We are grateful for the support and for the legacy that the Cornelius family have offered to the Pace for Poverty

Packet Pick-up

Packet Pick-up will occur in the Gull Lake Middle School gym on Friday July 2 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm and on race day July 3 from 6:30am - 7:30am.

Parking

Parking is available at the Gull Lake Ryan Intermediate School, Richland Elementary School and the surrounding campus. Please arrive in plenty of time to park. The 5k and 10k begin at 8:00am, Fun Walk at 8:15 am and the roads may be blocked.

Packet Pick-up: 6:30am-7:30am Middle School Gym; Race Start: 5k & 10k 8:00am; Fun Walk Start: 8:15am; Richland Parade: 11:00am; Lions Club Chicken Barbeque: After Parade

Course Notes

All events start and end behind the Gull Lake Middle School (9550 East M-89, Richland Michigan) The courses wind their way through streets neighboring the Gull Lake Schools, as well as the Richland countryside, with aid stations on all courses. A map of the courses will be availalbe at packet pick-up.

Results/Awards

Prizes will be awarded three deep in each five-year age category for the 10k and 5k run. Special awards for top overall Male and Female winners and top overall Male and Female Masters (over 40) winners. Results posted as soon as possible at the conclusion of the run and prizes will be available for pick-up at the Awards Tent. Computerized timing with disposable chips provided by Gault Race Management.

Safety

For safety purposes, no bicycles, strollers, skateboards, roller-blades, or roller skates are allowed on the course. Baby strollers and wagons will be allowed in the 5k Fun walk only

Registration Deadlines

Early Registration ends with entries recieved on June 25th, 2010. On-Line Registration ends on Thursday July1, 9:00pm. All other late registration must be done, in person, on hard copy form 3:00pm-7:00pm July 2 or 6:30am-7:30am July 3 in the Gull Lake Middle School Gym. Hard copy registration fees will be an additional $5.00 for the 10k and 5k (in addition to any late fees).

Family Fun Walk Discount

There is a $45.00 maximum fee for the 5k Family Fun Walk. Participants must live at the same residence. Each family member must have an entry filled out in his/her name. Forms for each family must be mailed together with one check. TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FAMILY FUN WALK DISCOUNT YOU MUST REGISTER USING A HARD COPY (PAPER) REGISTRATION FORM. FORMS ARE AVAILABLE AT LOCAL MERCHANTS and GAZELLE SPORTS FOR OTHER LOCATIONS PLEASE CALL (269) 387-2678.

Notes

No confirmation of entry by telephone: NO REFUNDS. Race sponsors reserve the right to cancel the event, or postpone the start if inclement weather provides a safety risk to participants or volunteers.

ChampionChips

The Pace for Poverty will provide disposable chips included in the Race Materials. Therefore ChampionChips will NOT be used.

2010 KAR Race Discount

Pace for Poverty is participating in the 2010 Race Discount and Club Championship Series Program with the Kalamazoo Area Runners. In the appropriate section, please enter your four digit authorization code
