Join us for the 9th Annual Nature House 5K Fund Run/Walk. Pre-register or register the morning of beginning at 7 AM! Enjoy our new and amazing Nature House facility, and the place for environmental education in and around Reston!

Description

The Nature House 5K Fund Run, now in its 9th year, is a community-based and sponsored event. Timing is by Reston Runners and it is a rolling, scenic and mostly wooded course through Reston neighborhoods and parkland.

Fees

Early registration (through April 6) is $25, regular registration is $30. Nine years old and under race fee is $15 early, $20 regular. Proceeds go to The Friends of Reston for Community Projects, Inc.

Packet Pick-up and On-site Registration

Packet pick-up will be at Nature House at the Walker Nature Education Center, 11450 Glade Drive on Friday April 20, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Packet pick-up also on race day beginning at 7 am at the race site. On-site registration at that time as well.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top three female and male finishers overall and in the following categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Quality t-shirts for all pre-registered participants.

Donations to Friends of Reston

This event raises funds to support the new ecofriendly Nature House facility and the environmental education programs of the Walker Nature Education Center. Each and every contribution is important.

Enjoy Nature House after the Race

After finishing the event, you can explore the nature center and Nature House , which will be open after the event. It is LEED Gold Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council as a model of sustainable design and construction. It is Reston's home for environmental and nature education opportunities for all ages.

Additional Information

The rolling course is run entirely on paved pathways and natural surface trails along Glade Drive, in The Glade Stream Valley Park and Walker Nature Education Center. All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a quality t-shirt. Food and beverage after the race as well as random prize drawings.
