Race central is at the pavilion area in Lake Redding Park, just downstream from Diestlehorst Bridge.

$4500 in Prize Money

$4500 in prize money is being offered in the 10 Mile race. You must be a Pacific Assoc of USA/TF member to be eligible for a prize money award. All runners are eligible for all non-monetary prizes and awards.

New Sundial Bridge

The NorCal races are just upstream from the Sundial Bridge. The Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay crosses the Sacramento River in the heart of Redding, California. Open July 4, 2004, the bridge links the north and south campuses of Turtle Bay Exploration Park and serves as a new downtown entrance for Redding's extensive Sacramento River Trail system.

Sundial Bridge

In addition to being a functional work of art, the Sundial Bridge is a technical marvel as well. The cable-stayed structure has an inclined, 217-foot pylon constructed of 580 tons of steel. The deck is made up of 200 tons of glass and granite and is supported by more than 4,300 feet of cable. The structure is stabilized by a steel truss, and rests on a foundation of more than 115 tons of steel and 1,900 cubic yards of concrete. The McConnell Foundation funded the majority of the bridge's cost.

Packet Pickup

Friday March 1st, 2013 at Fleet Feet in Redding, from 11 am to 7 pm. Race registration may also be handled at this time.

Race Day Registration

Race day registration will be available from 7 am to 9:30 am at the pavilion area.

Awards

Awards (custom medals) will be handed out to the top 5 in each age group category for both the 10 Mile and 3 Mile. One milers will receive participation ribbons and age groups will be awarded 5 deep (ribbons) for those in grades K-8th. There will also be overall and Master overall awards for both the 10 Mile and 3 Mile races.

Certified Course

The 10 mile is a USA/TF certified couse - #CA030003RS.

Timing & Results

Results will be available shortly after each race has finished and posted near pavilion area. Full results will be available on the SWEAT Running Club website that evening. www.sweatrc.com

One-Mile Team Race $1300 in Gift Certificates

A one-mile team race will be offered again this year. The team race is open to all kids in grades K-8th. Each team is made up of 4 members with one of them being of the opposite sex. The winning team will receive a trophy to display at their school for the next year. Cross country style scoring will determine the winning team. Benefit

The SWEAT Running Club gives college scholarships to local high school seniors. All the profits from our races goes to these scholarships. We have given over $18,000 in scholarships to local seniors over the last three years.

One-Mile Prize Breakdown

$250 for first in each category (K-2, 3-5 & 6-8), $100 for seond. There is a $250 bonus for the overall winning team's school. Awards are in gift certificates to the teams school towards the purchase of running related products. Gift certificates are for an online track & field supply company.
