Brief Description

The Palos Verdes Half Marathon and Community 5K will start and finish is at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. You'll again enjoy Southern Caifornia's most senic courses, with rolling hills with beautiful sea views and cool breezes. Half Marathon finishers receive a Technical Shirt, 5K finishers receive a quality 100% cotton shirt. The Half Marathon is a great training run for the Rock & Roll Marathon and other local distance races.

Parking

Park at The Promenade at the Peninsula, 550 Deep Valley Dr., Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Plan on a 20 minute bus ride to the start. Also, in surrounding overflow lots at RPV City Hall and the Salvation Army College at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd. if available, with shuttle buses providing easy and quick access to the event site. Shuttles begin leaving at 5 am and run continually until 8:30 am. Please carpool.

Directions

To get to the event site at the Terranea Resort and adjacent parking lots, take the #405 freeway to Hawthorne Blvd. Go South on Hawthore Blvd. to it's very end at PV Drive South. Watch for race parking signs and PLEASE CARPOOL and allow for a 20 miunte shuttle bus ride. HALF MARATHON RUNNERS CAN be dropped of at entry to Terranea by 6:30 am, 5K RUNNER'S CANNOT BE DROPPED off at Terranea. 5K Runners MUST take a shuttle as the road will be closed and there is no stopping at the Terranea entry.

Packet Pick-up & Late Registration

Packet pick-up is at The VILLAGE RUNNER at 1811-A Catalina Ave., Redondo Beach, CA 90211, on Friday, May 18th, from 11 am to 6 pm, Also,on race morning, Sat., May 19th at the event site at pelican Cove in RPV, from 5:30 am to the start of the run. You can have someone pick up your packet for you. Sorry! we are not mailing back bib numbers or timing chips.

Special School Challenge

Register for the 5K as part of the School Challenge. Cash prizes awarded to the sponsored school with the most participants in elementary, middle, and high school categories. $20 registration fee for students, their families, friends and school staff up to May 1st. School Challenge closes May 1st. All participants are eligible for regular age division awards.

Special Team challenges

Three award categories: Most participants, speediest, and best spirit. (All team participants are eligible for regular age division awards as well as one of the team awards; only one Team award per team.)

This annual event is held on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula. It's an out and back slightly hilly course. There is a special School Challenge in the 5K, and a Team Challenge event in the Half Marathon. Finishers medals to all finishers. Half Marathon Tech shirts & 100% cotton 5K finisher shirts. The Course

Shirts & medals

A special Finishers shirt to all finishers. Half Marathon runners receive a Technical shirt, 5K runners a 100% cotton shirt. All finishers receive a special Finishers medal.
