Brief Description

The North Carolina Roadrunners Club presents the 19th Annual Women’s Distance Festival 5K. Our charitable partner is Interact, a private, non-profit agency whose mission is to provide safety and support to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and to promote violence-free relationships and communities through collaboration, public information and advocacy.

Last Year's Results

Over 200 runners and walkers registered for this event last year. Rita Beard led the field over the downtown Raleigh course in 20:12. Tasha Nun was the top master finishing in 23:06. Mandy Hopper holds the course mark of 19:44 set in 2008. Ivonne Chirino-Klevans set the masters course mark with a 21:59 effort in 2009.

Location

For many years the race started and finished at the Halifax Community Center in downtown Raleigh. However, since that Center is undergoing renovations, the race has been moved to the Haywood Building on the Dorothea Dix Campus (850 Ruggles Drive on your GPS). This is the same course used for the Raising Cane 5K.

Starting Times

The featured 5K is the first event of the day beginning at 8:30 am. The Kids' 1/4-Mile and 100-yard dash events will begin as soon as the 5K is over. Registation for these two events will take place on race day morning.

Entry Fees/T-Shirts

The entry fee is $25 for the 5K. There is not late fee for the 5K, but tech t-shirts are only given to those who register by September 6th. There is no entry fee for the Kid's Run.
