This is the last USA Track and Field sanctioned Half Marathon (or marathon) in Utah for the 2009 season!

Difficulty
Low. This one of the fastest and most scenic Half Marathon courses in the World! This downhill course boasts a total elevation loss of 2,008 ft and a total elevation gain of only 7 ft. SWEET! Record times - here we come!

Schedule
Race begins at 8:00am on the Alpine Loop above the Sundance Resort at Aspen Grove (9521 N Alpine Loop Rd. Provo, UT 84604). Buses leave to the Start from The Shops@Riverwoods behind Movies 12 beginning at 5:45am to 6:45am (4801 N University Ave. Provo, UT 84604). You may be dropped off at the race Start at Aspen Grove before 7:00AM, but you WILL NOT be permitted to park there. Please do not wait for the last bus to leave or you may Start the race late.
Warmth at START
Halloween Runners will have access to the Emerald Dining Hall at Aspen Grove beginning at 5:00am on race morning where you will collect your TIMING CHIPS. We have rented this room for the warmth, restrooms, and to allow runners to mingle with fellow runners and friends and family prior to the race. Breakfast will not be served at the race start.

Race Timing
This will be a CHIP-TIMED event. Chip will be there with his timer! J/K! Runners will have TIMING CHIPS! Runners will receive their Timing Chips at the Emerald Dining Hall at Aspen Grove prior to the race start. Please allow Volunteers to remove your Timing Chip when you cross the Finish.
Time Limit
You will have 4.25 hours to finish this run, so although we have some runners finishing in less than 1.5 hours, this run is also about FUN! You WILL finish!
Restrooms
MANY for your enjoyment at the start and throughout the course. Runners will also have access to restrooms inside the Emerald Dining Hall at Aspen Grove at the Start. Don't you HATE it when you have to go and have to wait!?!

Course Detail-1st Half of Race
The race will travel south from Aspen Grove on the Alpine Loop (SR-92) to Provo Canyon (US-189) where traffic will be stopped by UHP & Flaggers while runners cross the Provo Canyon Rd. Once on the south side of Provo Canyon Rd, athletes will run to the left of the tunnels which will be coned-off for runners. Runners will travel on the shoulder of Provo Canyon Rd to South Fork Rd where they will turn left entering into Vivian Park and connect with the Provo River Parkway (Trail).
Course Detail-2nd Half of Race
Once on the Provo River Parkway (Trail), runners will stay on the paved trail until it reaches River Park Dr in Provo. At this intersection, runners will turn right and run past Edgewood Rd. After Edgewood Rd, but before reaching the bridge over the Provo River, runners will turn left on another paved trail. The run will end between Movies 12 and Hogie Yogie on that trail. Course Caution
We suggest thinking about BLISTER PREVENTION. The first 5 miles of the course are steeper than most Runners EVER practice during training. Experiment with blister prevention techniques, such as putting Compeed® or duct tape or Mole Skin® on friction points or ointments such as Vaseline®, Bag Balm®, or Bodyglide®. We ask that all Runners use Caution on this extreme section of the course.
