Additional Information
2009 will mark the 8th Annual Breeze Against Wheeze 5K. The race was conceived in 2001 by a Brown University Medical student as a means to help finance Hasbro Children's Hospital's Asthma Camp, a project of the Community Asthma Program. Each year the race raises 25% of the camp's total costs. Besides the 5K adult race and 3K walk, the day's activities include kids' races, raffles, and a Health & Wellness Fair at the finish line. The Community Asthma Program offers information and education about asthma and its management. Various student and community organizations will provide free preventive health checks and education.
