Course Descriptions

The 5K and Half Marathon courses start in South Mountain Park. The 5K course goes west into the park and doubles back to the finish. The Half Marathon heads east out of the park along a private park road, goes north along 7th Street, west on Dobbins, north on Central, and turns east on to the canal with a turn around at 40th Street. The course doubles back to the finish. The sunrise and mountains make this a great course. The weather is good and lots of water is provided on route.

Race Perks

Racers receive a custom long sleeve T-shirt, massage therapy, food and drinks. Awards ceremony for both races. Bring the whole family for music, fun, and a great cause!

Why Our Event is Special

This is the 41st year for the YMCA race! It is the oldest footrace in Arizona. Wyatt Earp starts our race with a double barrel shot gun in the tradition of the old west. This will wake you up and get you moving!
