Brief Description

Proceeds of the race will go to the Tyler Jefferson Reward fund to help find the perpetrators, who murdered this young sailor. The race is a 5K competitive Run/Walk.

Tyler Jefferson Memorial 5K Cause

On Nov. 12, 2009, at about 8 p.m., Tyler Jefferson, an 18-year-old active-duty Sailor, was shot several times while jogging near Corry Station in Pensacola, Fla. She was to graduate a week later, but tragically, died alone and afraid while training to serve her country. The people responsible for her murder have not been caught. The Tyler Jefferson Memorial 5K is being organized to raise awareness about this horrific act and to aid in the capture of the people who carried out this cowardly act.

Race Information

- The race will start and finish on Center for Information Dominance Corry Station.

Registration

Register before October 22nd to qualify for reduced rate ($20) and gaurantee a T-shirt. LATE REGISTRATION is $25 and goes from 22 October - 4 November T-shirt while supplies last; however, online registration will close midnight on Wendsday, 3 November. WALK IN LATE and EARLY BIRD RACE DAY registration is $30 and with packet pick-up will be held from 6-7:00am at race cite; T-shirt if available. Make checks out to: **Tyler Jefferson Memorial Fund**

Packet Pick up

Packet Pick-Up will be held on Friday, November 4th from 4-7pm at Pen Air Federal Credit Union (5570 W. Hwy 98, Pensacola, FL 32507). Race day packet pick up will be held at the registration booth from 6-7 am.

Course

The race course will start on Corry Station on Chiefs way between BLDG 501 and the bowling alley. Continue to New Warrington and take a Left and continue to Gulf st and make a left. Take Gulf street to Jackson street and turn left, and continue to 49th ave. and make a Left. Turn Right on Chestnut and take that to redwood cir and follow that to Prieto Dr. Take Prieto dr and turn right onto Chiefs way. Take chiefs way through the front gate of Corry Station and the race will finish on the track.

Parking is available next to the track on Chiefs way.
