The Run For the Cops 10k is a race to help raise funds for the Peace Officer's Memorial Foundation of Cook County. The Foundation is trying to raise money to build a memorial for all officers from all law enforcement agencies operating in Cook County on the federal, state, county and local levels, whom gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. ALL DONATIONS GENERATED FROM THIS EVENT WILL GO TOWARDS THE FIRST EVER COOK COUNTY PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL
The Peace Officers Memorial Foundation of Cook County is a 501c3 not for profit organization which was started in 2002 in an effort to build a police memorial for all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in Cook County. This memorial is for all officers from all law enforcement agencies operating in Cook County on the federal, state, county and local levels. ALL DONATIONS GENERATED FROM THIS EVENT WILL GO TOWARDS THE FIRST EVER COOK COUNTY PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL
The USATF sanctioned and certified (IL) 10k trail run course begins and ends at the base of Swallow Cliff in the Palos Forest Preserves. Water is provided on the course.
Registration is $35.00 until June 3, 2012 @ 11:59pm; $40.00 after that until race day (on-site, cash or check only!!). All adult registrants registered prior to May 28 @ 11:59pm will receive a technical tee-shirt. THERE WILL BE NO EXCHANGES OF T-SHIRTS. SHIRTS ARE SEX SPECIFIC. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SIZES PRIOR TO REGISTRATION.
There will be an activities area beginning before the race from 7:30 am until 11:00 AM. This area will feature displays from different entities around Cook County. This is going to be a great time for those who are not running to see the many different tools which are used from different departments.
There will be unique awards for the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups are as follows: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over.
Sorry, due to course limitations, there are NO bikes or animals allowed on the course. This will be STRICTLY ENFORCED! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Packet Pickup will be held at: Universal Sole at 3052 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Race day packet pickup will also be available, but WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND picking up prior to race day, as we don’t have access to the race site until race day morning. If you choose race day pickup there will be pickup from 06:00am until 07:30am.
Parking is limited in the main parking lot, so we recommend arriving early. THERE IS NO PARKING ON THE GRASS. If the main parking lot is full, there is additional parking located about a 1/2 mile west on Cal Sag Rd (Rte 83) just south on Willow Springs Road (104th Ave). You can walk the trail east to the start line.

The Run For The Cops 10k DOES NOT offer refunds for ANY reason. Please make sure you can attend on Saturday, June 10, 2012 @ 08:00am prior to registration. If for some reason you need to withdraw, your packet will be available at pick-up.
