Brief Description

The International Association of Chiefs of Police, Orlando Police Department and Universal Studios are hosting this 5K Run to benefit Special Olympics Florida. The course winds runners through the movie and TV streets and sets of Universal Studios, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal CityWalk.

Beneficiery

The mission of Special Olympics Florida is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities by giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

Parking

The race will take runners through both Universal Parks and City Walk. Parking will be in the Universal Resorts parking garages. Parking Garage Address: 6000 Universal Boulevard - Orlando, FL 32819. Parking garage opens at 5:30AM, parking is free till 6:30AM, after 6:30AM there will be a $15 parking charge.

T-shirts

First 600 participants will receive a technical running shirt. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed for day of race registration.

Awards

Awards will be provided to top male and female finishers, top masters finishers, top law enforcement finishers, and the top age group finishers (12 and under; 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and up).

Packet Pick Up

For runners and their families attending the IACP convention packet pick up will be at the Orange County Convention Center on Friday from 12:00PM to 5:00PM and Saturday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
For runners not attending the convention, packet pick up will be at Fleet Feet Sports Thursday from 10:00am to 7:00pm, Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday from 12:00pm till 6:00pm

Shuttles

There will be three pick-up/drop-off locations: the Doubletree Resort Orlando (10100 International Drive), the Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld (6677 Sea Harbor Drive) and the Orange County Convention Center (9800 International Drive; West Hall A). Those needing transportation are asked to arrive at the pick-up locations no later than 5:45 a.m.
