Brief Description

Haley was a healthy, beautiful, happy little girl. On May 15, 2000, at the tender age of 21 months, she went to sleep and never woke up. Because she was over the age of 1, her death is not considered SIDS, but instead she belongs to a lesser-know category called Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). To this day, her friends and family still do not know the cause of her death. Please join us on July 4th for a 5-mile cross-country run or a 2-mile family walk. Walk. Run. Laugh. Remember.

Registration Booth

The registration booth is located in the library plaza in front of the waterfall fountain. The run and walk start together at 8am. The 5-mile run is on both pavement on then on dirt paths that take you through the beautiful hills of Orinda. The 2-mile Family Walk is completely paved and perfect for strollers and dogs!

Proceeds from the event

All proceeds from the run and silent auction benefit the Sudden Unexplained Death Childhood (SUDC) program, a part of the CJ Foundation for SIDS. For the past four years, our event has generated over $80,000 for the SUDC program! For more information about SUDC, please visit www.sudc.org.

Additional Information

Haley's Run for a Reason kicks off Orinda's 4th of July festivities at 8am. There is a pancake breakfast, parade at 10am and park activities with live music, food, kids activities (including a Home Depot Kids' Workshop, kid entertainers), and Haley's Silent Auction, which includes over 100 items to bid on from 11am - 1pm.
