$20 through April 30th, $25 May 1st through May 6th, $30 Raceday. No charge and no shirt for fun run and tot trot.

Brief Description

The Kansas Heart & Sole Classic is a fun-filled event for all ages and includes a 5K Run/Walk, 10 K Run, Tot Trot and Fun Run. The event benefits Special Olympics Kansas, a year-round program of sports training, education, and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Packet Pickup and Late Registration

Race packets and registration will be available in the building lobby at 100 E. Park St (located on the east side of the Johnson County Square) in downtown Olathe, Friday, May 6, 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm. On the day of the race, packets and registration will be available at the race start from 6:00 am - 7:30 am. RACE CHIPS MUST BE PICKED UP ON RACE DAY.

Chip Timing

This event will be utilizing chip timing. All participants will be issued a chip for use during the event. No other timing chip may be worn. It is the participant's responsibility to return the chip. If not returned, the participant will be charged $50.00 for the lost chip.

Race Day Events

Race chips must be picked up and final registrations made between 6:00 am and 7:30 am. The 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run begins at 8:00 am. The Tot Trot begins at 9:00 am with the Fun Run following at 9:15 am. Awards will be presented starting at 9:30 am.

Runner Protection and Medical Aid

The Olathe Police Department and course officials from the Olathe Running Club will provide safety and assistance along the race route. Radio headsets, baby strollers/baby joggers, roller skates, roller blades, motorized vehicles, and aminals are not allowed on the course.

Awards

First place overall in the 5K and 10K for male and female. First place overall Masters (age 40+) in the 5K and 10K for male and female. Top 3 finishers per age division in both 5K and 10K for both male and female. No duplicate awards. The 5K and 10K age groups are 7 and under, 8-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

Refreshments

Refreshements provided by race sponsors will be available immediately following the events.

Additional Information

Race starts and finishes at the Johnson County Square in historic downtown Olathe. The relatively flat 3.1 mile course winds through established neighborhoods with many tree-lined streets. 10K participants are encouraged by cheering from the spectators as they reach the 5K mark and start the second lap of the course. The Kansas Heart & Sole Classic 10K is part of the Mid-America Running Association's Grand Prix Circuit.
