Brief Description

Heart of Ghent 10K and Kid’s Fun Run rings in the fall season to historic Ghent in Norfolk with a fit, festive, charitable family oriented run/walk through the historic and scenic Ghent neighborhood. With its unique blend of fine restaurants, boutiques, cafes, shopping, professional services, and quiet residential neighborhoods, Norfolk's Historic Ghent is an ideal location for this great inaugural event that will prove to be a “don’t miss” race on the regional running calendar.

RACE COURSE:
Heart of Ghent 10K and Kid’s Fun Run starts and finishes on Colley Avenue in Ghent across from Blair Middle School and loops through the historic and scenic neighborhood of East Ghent

PARKING:
Plenty of free parking is available at Blair Middle School and surrounding neighborhood streets.

AWARDS:
Awards ceremony will start at 10:00am located in the parking lot in front of Blair Middle School. There will be plenty of food and drink. Door prizes will be raffled off at this time. Children will receive finisher ribbons.

AGE GROUPS:
Top three Male & Female Overall, Top three Male & Female Walkers and Top three Male & Female in each age group will receive an award.11 and Under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. First Place Overall Male & Female will each receive a special prize.

PACKET PICKUP
Early packet pick up will be on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Running Etc. at 1707 Colley Avenue Norfolk, VA 23517 and on race day onsite at Naro Theater 1507 Colley Ave, Norfolk, VA 23517 from 6:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
