Brief Description

Celebrate the 27th running of Newport's favorite adult & youth running event & keep the healthy “spirit” alive for future generations.

Featuring: NEW Twice the Fun - Spirit Run & Newport Beach Track Meet • Competitive Youth 5K (prehighschoolers 14 & under) • New Adult 15K (Race 10K & 5K & we will combine & rank times) • 5K Adult Run, Stroller Run & Family Walk • 10K Run (no walkers) • Seven 1/4 to 1 Mile Youth Races (ages 4-12) • Youth & Fitness Expo • Fashion Island • Newport Beach, CA

REGISTRATION OPTIONS

You may register in person on Saturday, March 20th from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Road Runner Sports in Costa Mesa located at Costa Mesa Courtyards, 1835 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa, CA 92627, (949) 515-9540.

Participate in the Spirit Run & the Frank E. Anderson Memorial Newport Beach Elementary Track Meet

  • Entry only open to children born in 1995-2003
  • Events: Single Spirit Run Race or Spirit Run Youth Combo & Newport Beach Track Meet
  • Newport Beach Track Meet (Friday, 4/16/2010) - 3 events to include 2 running and 1 field or 2 field and 1 running (no one may register for 3 running or for 3 field events).

    PARENTS PLEASE READ

    Parents/Guardians of Youth in the Youth 5K race may register for the Adult 5K and run in the Youth 5K but must start in the back of the pack and are not eligible for any awards. No other adults may register or run in the Youth 5K.

    Twice the Fun - Newport Beach Track Meet Events

    Newport Beach Track Meet event options depend on the year of birth. The following are the events for various age categories:

  • 1997-1995 - 100m dash, 200m run, 400m run, 1600m run, softball throw, long jump, high jump, shot put
  • 2000-1998 - 100m dash, 200m run, 400m run, 800m run, softball throw, long jump
  • 2001-2002 - 50m dash, 100m dash, 200m run, 400m run, softball throw, long jump
  • 2003 - 50m dash, 100m dash, 200m run, softball throw, long jump

    • Additional Information

    Join more than 4,000 participants - 2,000 of which are under the age of 12 - for a community event designed for the entire family. A Youth and Fitness Expo celebrates health and will entertain runners and walkers of all ages. Event proceeds benefit the educational programs for Newport-Mesa Schools. As a USATF certified course around Fashion Island, the racing venue is a great place to earn your next personal record.
